Abstract
Abstrak
Community service activities through the Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) represent a form of student contribution to community development through the application of academic knowledge and practical skills. This study aims to describe the implementation and contribution of the KKN program in empowering the younger generation through education, literacy, and environmental awareness in Batu Karang Village, Payung District. This study employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through observation, documentation, interviews, and direct participation in community activities during the KKN program. The data were analyzed descriptively by organizing, interpreting, and presenting findings based on activities and conditions observed in the field. The findings indicate that KKN activities contributed to community development, particularly in education, literacy, and environmental awareness. Educational activities encouraged children’s participation in learning and supported the development of knowledge and motivation. Literacy activities provided opportunities for children and young people to develop reading habits, creativity, and learning interests. Environmental activities encouraged community participation in maintaining cleanliness and increasing awareness of environmental preservation. The implementation of these activities also strengthened interaction and cooperation between students and the local community. Therefore, the KKN program can support community empowerment through a participatory approach that utilizes local potential and encourages active community involvement in educational, literacy, and environmental activities.
